Keely is an Associate Planner at Jim Saulnier & Associates, where she works alongside both the Planning and Tax Teams to help clients navigate the Secure Retirement Income Process™. Throughout the year, she assists clients with retirement planning, fall tax planning, and tax preparation, enjoying the opportunity to combine analytical problem-solving with getting to know each client’s unique story and goals. After several years in retail management, she discovered a passion for business and finance before realizing that helping individuals with their personal finances was even more rewarding. She earned an associate degree in Business and Finance at Laramie County Community College before completing her bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning at Colorado State University, where she first met Chris Stein as one of her professors. After joining JS&A as a tax intern, she joined the firm full-time following graduation. Keely passed the CFP® exam shortly after graduating and earned her CFP® certification in 2025 after completing the experience requirement.
Fun Facts
Keely also:
- Grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with her husband, and their adopted Cane Corso/Boxer mix, Kato.
- Loves cooking, baking, reading, crafting, and traveling.
- Is known as the planner of the group by friends and family, whether she’s organizing a dinner party, a weekend getaway, or a holiday celebration. If given the choice between winging it and making a spreadsheet, she’ll probably choose the spreadsheet.
I planned a trip for my friends and I to spend a weekend in Winter Park, CO. We snowshoed during the day, ate great BBQ, and then spent the evening tubing down the Coca Cola Tubing Hill before making the trek back to Fort Collins the next morning.
On my first road trip from Fort Collins to Las Vegas, my husband and I signed up for a horseback ride in Zion National Park. We rode the horses to this slot canyon and dismounted to actually walk into the formation.
I took a tufting class near Boulder, CO. In this class, I got to create my own design before using a tufting gun and yarn to make the rug.
I baked three homemade pies for our annual Friendsgiving celebration completely from scratch: a butternut squash pie with a gingersnap crust, a traditional apple pie with a lattice crust, and a pumpkin pie with a graham cracker crust.
Kato cannot resist a treat! She'll show off her good sitting skills to earn one.
